Does Krav Maga actually work? Can Krav Maga actually save your life? In my years of experience, I’ve come to the conclusion that, no, it does not and I can not. Now, before you freak out, let me explain. Many people ask me, all the time, if by coming into my classes and training, they’ll become a good fighter. The answer to this is, “Of course!” However, there are some stipulations one needs to understand first.
Krav Maga is not some magic pill or a sprinkle of pixie dust. Krav Maga is hard, it’s intense, and it’s not easy! I know that I’m probably scaring someone with this, but it’s the truth. Nothing in life worth doing is easy. This doesn’t mean that you need to be an IDF soldier to do it, either. It just means that, in order to do Krav Maga well, you need to be dedicated to it. If all you’re looking for is a good workout, then try my Cage Fitness or Krav Fit programs. If you’re looking to learn how to defend yourself and your loved ones, however, Krav Maga is for you!
Krav Maga is the most practical form of Self Defense in the world, and it offers it’s practitioners the tools necessary to avoid, handle, and survive violent encounters on virtually any scale. It is designed for soldiers in the harshest of conditions and most dangerous of environments. As a civilian in the western world, one might question if such a system is necessary, but the truth is that it couldn’t be more necessary. With the way our world is becoming, everyone needs to be prepared to defend themselves against all threats, both foreign and domestic.
My most sincere hope is that you try a Krav Maga class and realize the importance. One day your Self Defense training could be all that you have, and you would be very relieved that you had it. I suppose that old adage of “it’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it” is quite true in this case. Stay safe, my friends!
